Do your homework, gather data,
ex-CMS board chair advises
Nov. 16, 2010
The child of this city's most overlooked neighborhoods and worst housing projects who went on to be chair of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Board of Education returned to the Tuesday Morning Breakfast Forum to implore people interested in the progress of all children to stay involved, to do their homework, and to push for the hard data that will bring people together to find solutions.
Griffin, who travels nationwide for education publisher McGraw-Hill, also recounted ways in which other cities, like Charlotte, are pulling back resources under the name of "reform."
Posted below are audio files from Griffin's comments.
